An Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) official on March 12, 2020 assaulted a government official and further threatened him with his gun.
In what has been described as a show of muscle, Mr Eric Janganya a nominated ward representative in Kisii County assaulted Mr Douglas Bogonko.
In a police report filed at Kisii Station, Mr Janganya even threatened to shoot Mr Bogonko who is an accountant in Kisii County.
A P3 form in our possession reveal that Mr Bogonko filed the report at Kisii Police Station under OB number 05/12/03-2020 but to date the ward representative is yet to be arrested.
“The bearer of this P3 is alleged to have been assaulted by one best known to him. Carry examinations and ascertain the degree of injury,” read part of the P3 form that was penned by the investigating officer.
The form further revealed that indeed Mr Bogonko was assaulted and doctors at the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital said that he sustained injury on his lower lip, his left eye and also sustained a fractured tooth.
Dr Shah further in the report notes that the victim had a swollen face and as well as the lower part of his mouth.
A close ally to Mr Bogonko said that they had raised concerns with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on how the investigations into the matter was being carried.
Mr Janganya who also served as a student leader in the University of Nairobi during the same time with Embakassi East Member of Parliament Paul Owili alias Babu Owino was nominated to the Kisii Assembly in 2017.
Mr Janganya a graduate of Economics in 2015 after winning the Secretary General seat described himself as a “known fighter for student rights- who will never be bought nor manipulated.”
Efforts to reach him on phone, bore no fruits as he was not available.
