A video is making its rounds on social media showing locals in Ogembo chasing five individuals who were driving in a private car of registration number KBP 658G.
In the video, locals of Ogembo are seen telling off occupants riding in the car as they ask them to leave immediately.
Kenya Mails has established that the people in the car had conveyed a meeting at Ogembo where they were giving out handouts to locals as they asked them to demonstrate against Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi.
However, the deal went sour when the locals turned against the organisers of the function after they handed them Sh70,000.
“They arrived here and called us to a hotel then asked us to demonstrate against Mr Maangi in exchange of money. We waited for them to share the money and asked them to leave,” James Mairura, a local told Kenya Mails.
Another local who only identified himself as Eric said that they were asked to demonstrate carrying banners and against Mr Maangi but they could not accept it.
“They are politicking Monday to Monday when will they get time to deliver what they promised us in the last elections?” he posed.
This comes just after Mr Maangi claimed that his life was in danger which exposed the bad blood between him and his boss Governor James Ongwae.
