The Inspector General was forced to respond to allegations made in a report published on page 6 in today’s Daily Nation.

The IG categorically stated that the ongoing restructuring of the National Police Service (NPS) does not originate from his office.

A press statement received by Kenya Mails indicates that the misinformation contained in the daily’s report and other social media sources does not capture the accurate position of the NPS.

The statement which is signed by Anthony Munga indicates that the reforms are based on the Policy Framework and Strategy for Reorganization of the National police Service that was unveiled on 13th September 2018.

The full press statement is provided below.
