1 min read

Harambee Stars players may be locked inside a hotel in Cairo due to non-payment of hotel bill and miss their AFCON 2021 qualifier against Egypt.

Information reaching Kenya Mails is that Mr Nick Mwendwa the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) is concern about the matter and he said that the team has been given two hours to settle the bill or face the consequences.

“We are not sure on what to do, the team is currently training, and the players are yet to be informed about it,” Mr Mwendwa said.

According to him, the Ministry of Sports had promised to foot the bills of the Africana Hotel in Alexandria, Egypt but so far it has not fulfilled the promise.

A key player who spoke with us said that they were not aware of what was happening but will find out and get back to us.

An official at the Ministry of Sports told the Standard that FKF issued the invoice on Monday and by Wednesday night it had not been processed.
