For the first time Nairobi Governor Gideon Mbuvi alias Mike Sonko has broken a promise but what is happening to him?

Governor Sonko had last month promised to ensure that his Foundation will ensure one Silvester John Karanja is flown to India for treatment.

However, the governor opened up saying that his office was not in a position to fulfill the promise.

Taking to his official social media sites, Governor Sonko stated that his office was not in a position to fly Mr Karanja to India because of the current Corona Virus pandemic.

“Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and travel restrictions, the Sonko Rescue Team was not able to airlift Mr karanja to India until normalcy is restored globally,” the Governor stated.

The Governor further went ahead to reveal that Mr Karanja was suffering from a rare skin disease identified as Neurofibromatosis.

Governor Sonko said despite the current restrictions issued by the Government over Coronavirus doctors in the city managed to take surgeries that saw his hand function fully.

Mr Karanja was on Wednesday afternoon taken to his home and he awaits to fly out so that he can undergo treatment over the condition he suffers from.

Kenya Mails has established that the Sonko Rescue Team took Mr Karanja to his home after the city hall boss bought him shopping.

Governor Sonko is serving his first term, however, due to cartels who operate in Nairobi County- he decided to hand over some of the functions to the National Government.
