Coronavirus; New Case Reported Patient Quarantined in Nakuru- Police

A different case other than the confirmed two has been reported and the patient a foreigner is currently quarantined in Nakuru Level 5 Hospital. 

A police report filed under OB number 31/15/03/2020 and seen by Kenya Mails stated that a foreigner identified as Herman Krosse 27, who has been staying at Cathay Hotel had symptoms of the scary Coronavirus. 

Ms Elizabeth Kiptoo, the County Director of Public Health in Nakuru reported that the tourist was a Dutch national. 

“He checked into the hotel on Saturday 14/03/2020 as a tourist from the Netherlands. He arrived into the country on March 5, 2020,” read part of the statement. 

The scene was visited by the health officials and the tourists was taken to the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital where he is placed in isolation ward for quarantine as per public health and safety Act. 

The patient results are expected to be out in a span of four days- and the case is currently being treated as a contact in the corona virus flight from his travel history. 

This comes just hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta announced that two more cases had been confirmed in the country. 

In a press statement on Sunday evening the President said that the government was doing all it takes to deal with the menace. 

Currently, over 22 patients are being quarantined at the Mbagathi Hospital.
