Ousted Energy Regulatory Boss Drags President Kenyatta, Matiang’i to his Woes

The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority’s ex-boss Pavel Oimeke on Tuesday dragged President Uhuru Kenyatta and CS Matiang;I to his woes. 

Mr Oimeke who is also said to be eyeing an elective post come 2022- claimed that President Uhuru Kenyatta was in a position to get him back to his job. 

He further stated that he had the support of Interior CS Fred Matiang’i even as the board that kicked him out accused him of nepotism and corruption. 

“Soon and very soon, I am returning to office at EPRA courtesy of H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta, Hon. CS Dr. Fred Matiang’i and CS Hon Charles Keter.What will my detractors say? I remain committed to my country Kenya and able leadership under H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta!” He said.

Mr Oimeke was re-appointed to the position by CS Keter but the appointment was challenged in court by a member of the public. 

Petition 114 of 2020 seeks to bar the Ministry of Energy from reappointing the current office holder for another three years until the hearing and determination with the petitioner seeking the position to be filled competitively.
